Dual-Band Circularly Polarized Antenna Array for 5G Millimeter-Wave Applications

A dual-band miniaturized e-shaped antenna with circular polarization (CP) at 28 and 38 GHz is presented in this work for 5G millimeter-wave applications. Characteristic mode analysis (CMA) used the design steps of antenna. This compact consists a main radiating patch surrounded by an L-shaped hat-shaped metallic strips. The was implemented on single RO5880 substrate thickness 0.508 mm, fed coaxial cable. 2 $\times $ array also developed validated. dimensions were notation="LaTeX">$1.5\,\,\lambda _{0}\,\,\times \,\,1.86\,\,\lambda _{0}$ (where notation="LaTeX">$\lambda free space wavelength GHz). In lower band GHz, 95% total efficiency 12.69 dBiC gain obtained, while higher 90% 11.10 achieved. beamforming capability dual investigated as well.
